Assistive Technology Device Demonstration

WATAP provides guidance and consultation to help people with disabilities make informed decisions about the AT devices and services they need for employment, education, independent living, and use of information technology.

The devices support activities such as daily living, augmentative and alternative communication, seeing, hearing, learning, mobility, computer access, and recreation. All device trials are free of charge. This gives individuals with disabilities, their families, and professionals the opportunity to try out and compare devices. This often helps consumers decide which device is right for them, or whether a solution that is not technology might be best.

Consumers with disabilities that reside in the state of Washington and/ or their family representatives, service providers and employers are eligible for this no cost service. Hands-on trial of AT devices is available by appointment in Seattle and other locations throughout the state, and AT community events.

Please contact WATAP at 1-800-214-8731 or watap@u.washington.edu to schedule an appointment.
