Due to the ever changing and on-going COVID-19 pandemic, we are temporarily putting in-person device demonstrations on hold and are offering virtual device demos via video/web when possible. We will continue to provide the rest  of our in-person services as long as we are able to maintain the health and safety of our staff and of those receiving our services. We are open for device borrowing requests and iCanConnect WA services.  In-person trainings and public outreach events will continue to be suspended for the foreseeable future. We are offering a variety of assistive technology webinars in the upcoming weeks, so follow us on FaceBook and Twitter for the latest updates and announcements.

Please check back for future updates and do not hesitate to contact us via 800-214-8731 or watap@uw.edu.

Evaluations and Assessments

Our staff provides evaluations and assessments as a fee for service to make recommendations for the best assistive technology solution for an individual. We often consider requests for evaluations for:

  • Computer Access: Recommendations will outline appropriate equipment needed for individuals with motor, visual, cognitive or learning, and other disabilities.
  • Office Ergonomic Assessments: Recommendations will outline appropriate equipment needed for an individual to decrease or eliminate ergonomic risk factors including workstation layout, seating and positioning or use of adaptive devices.

Please note that we provide evaluation and assessment services on a case-by-case basis and these may be limited due to staff availability and/ or expertise for specific types of disabilities and fucntional needs.
